Stop by today, we are OPEN!
We're a friendly farmers market established in 1910,
and just ten minutes away from Albany, NY!
There are many ways to find out why Kristy’s Barn was voted the Number One Farm Stand in the Capital District by Capital Region Magazine.
Farming is a seasonal business, each season the farm offers different foods and opportunities. We always offer a full line of fruits and vegetables grown on our farm or as local as possible. Fresh pasture raised, no antibiotic or hormone chickens are available monthly, call to reserve.
In the spring fill your garden and landscape your home with our artistically grown pots, hangers, proven winners, herbs, and vegetable plants. The vegetable plants we sell are the same varieties we plant on our farm and are proven favorites.
Late spring, early summer strawberries, red and black raspberry, and currents are ready to be picked. Call ahead to find our U-pick schedule, then bring your buckets and enjoy the afternoon picking and making memories with family and friends.
Available in the store, straight from our fields: asparagus, and early greens
Summer comes when squash, cucumbers, peaches and tomatoes and much more are picked from our fields and ready for sale at Kristy’s Barn, and many of the capital district’s farmers’ markets. Come find us at as many as you can!
Fall starts with pears and apples, many available for U-pick. We are famous for our old fashioned, no preservative apple cider, and our amazing cider donuts. We only make them 2 months out of the year, so eat you fill while they last. Weekends, starting mid-September our free hay rides, and petting paddock begin (call ahead for specific times and dates). In October come for pumpkin picking and the autumn view of the Helderburgs. Think about joining our next year’s CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) by leaving your email at the barn. We will email out details in February so you can decide then.
Our address is 2385 Brookview Road, Schodack, NY 12033. Click here for a map.
A Century Old Farming Tradition
Established in 1910, we're a friendly farm market located just ten minutes from Albany, NY! Kristy's Barn is full of quality fruits and produce, most of which are grown on our 300+ acre farm.
If you’re looking for a local farm, we follow a Low spray, No spray policy. This means we spray our crops ONLY when we absolutely NEED to and when we do, we spray minimally. We do this for our consumer's health as well as for the safety and health of the environment, and the creatures we share it with!
Our farm market changes to reflect the seasons:
Our goal is to provide our customers with the freshness and quality they seek. To do this, we ourselves produce nine types of fruits, twenty different vegetables and numerous varieties of flowers in our own orchards, fields & greenhouses.
If we don't grow it or we’re between crops, we purchase high quality products, grown as locally as possible. We have fruits, vegetables, five types of pasture raised meats, flowers, a full assortment of baked goods, jams, preservatives, salsas, pickled vegetables, honey, syrup, cheeses and free range poultry.
